The votes are in and the judges have choosen their bands. Face First is one of 16 bands that will play a qualifying show next week Wednesday June 21/06 at Reds along with Stereo Therapy, Flood of Fire, Disaster Bloom, AutoBody, Cold Driven, Gone Savage and Living Illusion. Another 8 bands will be performing on Thursday the 22nd. The winner will be announced Sunday June 25/06 right here on The Sound Radio. Hope to see you all out next week.

No, I'm just a fan. If you review the scoring criteria on this site, and look at the judging criteria, that sets the background. The judges names are listed and if any band member wanted to contact them or talked to them at the show, they were and are quite willing to provide feedback on the scoring. Fact is, the scoring was incredibly close, incredibly close, and any band that put on a kick *ss show Sat night has to know they were in the hunt! Understandably fans/bands from Alberta might have had second thoughts about a band from Vancouver winning (as was obvious from the 'subdued celebration' by Retrograde). Some bands win contests, others build a career....just my nickels worth here.

I have to agree with Johnedeals - let's not cloud things here but the questions still remains - what happened on Sat. not to rank top 5?? Face First had an incredible show, awesome tunes and won the crowd over. It would be interesting to see what place they did rank in and if your saying Johnedeals that the crowd voting wasn't enough to put them up there I would have to say bulls**t. Looking around that room all I saw were Face First shirts everywhere. Bottom line is yes Face First put on a show to remember which they always do and for some reason or another it wasn't good enough. Love to know why but maybe we'll never know. Politics maybe??????? It's funny though the winning band has 4 albums, on the road and basically has made a name for themselves - did they really need this win?? I think not, but who am I - I'm just a music fan that loves to see local indie bands move on. Kudos to Face First - the show on Sat. was just amazing, keep your heads high. Looking forward to your next show.

Congrats!J You guys put on a super show Saturday night. To "Dicez", let's not cloud things here....the judges werent' from Calgary. And for those bands who tooks the time to speak to the judges after the show (which they were all invited to do)they would know that judges may have had bands picked higher or lower and that the 25% value of crown vote made a difference. Bottom line Face First put on a super show and was one of the finalist of well over 50 bands! Not a bad night out. Keep pushin' on boys.

So I thought this competition was to get a band started, you know exposure, recording etc.??? So why give a band that's already on a tour and that's been in the studio the win?? Looks like their doing fine. You just got to question?? You guys kicked ass - great show, awesome tunes, you guys had it all. Not exactly sure what the judges were looking for last night but..... I guess it's true what they say "it's who you know" in life and in the entertianment business it's even worse. It's pretty sad when even other fans of other bands couldn't believe you didn't even make the top 5. I am a true Face First fan but I will be the first to admit when there are other great bands and tonight there were awesome bands, but Retrograde #1??? You guys have the whole package and I've got no doubt when the right person hears you, what happened last night will not be repeated. Thanks for an awesome show and fun memories, can't wait till the next show.

Totally agree - #46 right after midnight and all of a sudden this morning #51. What happen to the rules and regulations??????? Cut off was midnight.
