Joshuas Habit mixes the old school spirit and attitude of the classic rock era on stage with an energetic modern rock sound that is explosive and edgy. "The Habit" has been influenced by so many yet they sound like no other. They have played over 200 shows nation wide in the last 12 months selling 4000 albums independently of their 2004 release "Caution Contents Highly Addictive". With a new release jam packed with hit material entitled "Wash The Filth" due out in the fall, combined with their non stop work ethics, massive micro marketing abilities, and endless tour schedule, success is inevitable for one of the hardest working independent rock bands in the nation.

The brand new 11-track album, "Wash The Filth", was recorded in Burnaby at one of the worlds most acclaimed studios, Greenhouse Studios (Motley Crue, AC DC, Aerosmith) Produced by hit maker Todd Kerns (Age of Electric) and Engineered by Jay Evjen of Juice Mix Productions, the album is full of angst, edge, and energy. Ripping guitars, pounding drums, driving bass, and emotional yet powerful vocals make for an excellent modern rock album written on the road, for the road. Each song tells a distinct story influenced by true-life experiences. Joshuas Habit have become far more diverse and mature lyrically and musically since they took the act on the road full time in the fall of 2004. Joshuas Habit is officially releasing their latest single Drama Queen to commercial and satellite radio stations nationally, and internationally on Monday, August 28th, 2006!

Joshuas Habit's live show is explosive, raw, and real. Sonically the band is tight, in your face and able to take the crowd on a roller coaster ride of emotion and intensity. Most recently, Joshuas Habit has shared the stage with such bands as Default, Sam Roberts, Sum 41, The Trews, Kim Mitchell, BTO, Trooper, and Jeff Healy. Headlining their own nationwide tour, 'The Habit' has played over 100 live venues in the last 12 months and continue to pound away at this frantic pace into the fall.

In September 2006, Joshuas Habit will be playing Ookfest in Edmonton along with headlining acts, Yellowcard, Thornley, Danko Jones, Metric and many more. They will also be back on the road for a nation wide tour with showcases in Winnipeg for the Western Canadian Music Awards, and in Toronto in front of the most influential people in the Canadian Music industry to date.

Joshuas Habit has raw determination, sheer talent, and the unwillingness to never give in or sell out. They are prepared to expose their truly original music and high-energized show not only to this great Canadian nation, but to the entire world.

Red Deer Express - November 10, 2005
Calgary band Joshuas Habit is all about melding the old school spirit of classic rock with an edgy modern sound.

They play Kickers Saloon Thursday Night.

Last year saw the release of Caution Contests Highly Addictive, with follow-up Wash the Filth out this past fall.

An exceptional disc, Filth was recorded this past summer with producer Todd Kerns (Age of Electric) at the helm.

??This project seemed to just flow and come easily,?? explains lead singer and bassist Travis Pankiw.

??It??s the best we??ve done so far.??

The guys (rhythm guitarist Eddy Whiskey, lead guitarist California Talent and drummer The Gooch) initially recorded it live off the floor, and wanted to instil the explosive energy of their shows into the finished product.

??It??s not over-produced,?? says Pankiw of the slate of tunes, penned mainly over a 12-month period of heavy touring.

Introducing new songs into the set mix proved an ideal means to see what best connected with audiences.

??We were thinking how this or that song would fit into each show, and how they would draw people in,?? he says. ??We knew we were onto something good when the reactions to the new material started really picking up.??

From the powerful, mesmerizing tones of Dirty and the fiercely textured Drama Queen to lighter fare (the luminous first single Out of My Hands), Habit delves into modern pop/rock sensibilities without losing a shred of their well-honed authenticity.

Each cut tells a distinct story influenced by true-life experiences, says Pankiw. Initially, Out of My Hands wasn??t considered for the first single, but feedback from the industry and a slew of other voices showed it was the tune to introduce it straightaway, he says.

??There??s more energy and more angst ?? it??s darker than the last disc,?? he adds. ??It??s also more powerful ?? I??m writing more straight to the point on this one, where I took more of a metaphorical approach on the last one.??

The guys first began merging their talents in 2000, with their debut disc Images of Energy released in 2001.

It??s been a rich creative journey since.

??I think we??ve found the right chemistry to write solid material, play energetically and get people excited.??

seen you play twice. Unfortunatly. you bass player thinks he c**k of the walk when hes infact just a c**k. The only thing contagious about this is that you sound like praying for wings. Why not go grope some more woman and get kicked out of here?? its a good idea
